Direct Gov
Direct Gov is a national website containing information about public services – including road use and a copy of the Highway Code. This website also contains links to your local and county council website, where you should be able to find details of road safety teams in your area.

Tales of the Road
Tales of the Road campaign is the recently launched THINK! Child Road Safety campaign which clearly spells out the dangers of not crossing the road safely and highlights the need to 'stop, look and listen' every time. Tales of the Road uses animated characters to tell a series of cautionary tales each focusing on a different aspect of road safety. It was launched with a series of Tales of the Road televsion adverts using animated characters to tell a series of cautionary tales each focusing on a different aspect of road safety. The first advert, The Boy Who Didn't Stop, Look and Listen, launched in November 2008 followed by a second advert, The Girl Who Didn't Dress Bright in the Dark which aired on both digital and terrestrial children's channels from 29 December 2008. The third advert, The Boy Who Did Not Find a Safe Place aired in April 2009. The television adverts can be found on the new Tales of the Road website, which has road safety information for children and interactive games.

Bikeability
Bikeability is the Cycling Proficiency Test for the 21st century, designed to give the next generation the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today's roads. There are three Bikeability levels and children will be encouraged and inspired to achieve all three levels, recognising that there is always more to learn and to enjoy on a bike. This site contains information for parents and resources for teachers, and how to find out about local Bikeability schemes.

Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust
The Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust was set up in 1998 with the aim of reducing the number of children who are killed and injured every year in the UK as a result of head injuries sustained in cycling accidents.

Brake
Brake is a road safety charity and its website offers road safety advice for children, motorcyclists and other drivers. It also includes details of actual motorcycle accidents, and personal stories. BrakeCare is Brake's support division, supporting people who have been bereaved or injured through a road accident, or for professionals caring for someone affected in this way. The BrakeCare Helpline is for victims and carers including professionals such as the police and health agencies. It is staffed by professional carers offering emotional support and practical advocacy.

Children's Traffic Club
This is a successful, award winning road safety programme for 3 and 4 year olds. It helps parents and carers teach children how to keep safe when out and about, in a fun and memorable way. This website will give you information about The Club, the background, how it works, how to register your child, lots of hints and tips and fun activities.

Road Safety GB
Road Safety GB (formerly LARSOA) is a national road safety organisation that represents local government road safety teams across the UK. Road Safety GB supports Road Safety Officers in fulfilling their statutory role - to reduce the number and severity of road accidents through education, training and publicity policies and programmes. Sustrans
Sustrans pioneered the Safe Routes to School scheme which works to promote cycling and walking to thousands of young people across the UK. Their Bike It project goes into schools to inspire and enthuse would-be cyclists with a range of activities. Sustrans also runs the Nation Cycle Network - a network of safe routes for cyclists, some of which are traffic free.
